My Services – Initial Consultation

I will ask you to complete a health history form, for my own records only. Once you have done this I will go through the form with you and ask more detailed questions. I will observe you moving and look at your range of movement for specific parts of your body ie your neck, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles or back. It will be specific to your complaint.

From here, I can determine which of my services is best suited to treat you.

I will get you to sit or lie on my treatment table and continue the treatment which may consist of full body massage, sports massage, cupping, a form of acupuncture or myofascial release.

Initially I may only do a hands on treatment where it will be primarily massage. I may or may not use cups or acupuncture needles.

At the end of the initial consultation, I will go through some simple stretches with you and answer any questions you may have in regard to the treatment you’ve just had or any future treatments that will be needed.

I will make another appointment with you.

The account will be settled on the day, and you will go about your day knowing you’ve been cared for by a passionate Myotherapist who is interested in helping you feel better and be pain free and move better.

the initial consultation will usually be just over an hour.

Follow Up Appointments

Any follow up appointments are made at the end of the current appointment. I like to make sure you have an appointment in place that you can change any time rather than trying to squeeze you in when you need an emergency…

Follow up appointments can be a week apart. As you begin to feel better and move better these appointments can be made up to 4-6 weeks apart.

We will look at this from appointment to appointment.

Sometimes as your initial compliant begins to fade, another complaint will pop into your consciousness, something that you didn’t think was much of a problem at all. This happens a lot!

My Myotherapy treatments includes the modality of deep, soft tissue massage using a water soluble, non-fragrant  or plant based oil to warm the muscles.

There may be cupping applied and dry needling used, with patients consent.

Some stretches and exercises will be given at the conclusion of the treatment, so you may continue with rehabilitation at home.
